“Having integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. That’s what we stand for.”

Before becoming a financial professional, Doug fulfilled his passion for helping families by serving as the executive director at multiple branches within the Grand Rapids Metropolitan YMCA. While he loved the work and building deep, personal connections with those he helped, the job required him to be away from home often. Unwilling to continue to miss out on time with his family but still wanting a career where he could serve others, Doug switched to financial services.

As a financial professional specializing in retirement planning, Doug finds immense satisfaction in designing fully customized retirement strategies that provide clients with financial peace of mind. These plans cover all five pillars of retirement: income, tax, investment, insurance and legacy planning, helping ensure clients can enjoy a successful retirement. In addition to covering the five pillars, Doug focuses on helping clients be good stewards of their assets and not be afraid to spend the wealth they’ve worked so hard to accumulate.

“The way our plans are built, there will be another check next month and the next,” Doug says.

When not helping clients, Doug enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Julie, have three grown children — Benjamin, Nicole and Cody — and eight grandchildren. Doug and Julie live on Gun Lake and enjoy summers on the water with their children and grandchildren. In the fall, they shift to riding trails on their side-by-side. Doug also helps coach the grandkids in football and basketball.
